St. Jude’s Hospital
“Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It’s what you do for others”.
-Danny Thomas, Founder of the St. Jude’s Research Hospital
Real Estate is my business, but the engine behind helping each of my clients is to be of service to them. This also means being of purpose to my community and world in general. I’ve lived this out by assisting in Haiti after their big earthquake, helping to rebuild schools and infrastructures. I’ve taught business and English in Russia. I’ve assisted on a ranch in Mexico for the deaf community. Most recently, my biggest passion has been advocating on behalf of St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
Why I Care About St. Jude
As the years go by, I am made aware of more and more people (children and adults) fighting deadly diseases. My heart breaks for the pain, suffering, and heartache during such a difficult time. When I heard that the St. Jude Research Hospital has never charged a penny no matter of religion, race or ability to pay, I was hooked.
St. Jude’s Mission
The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.
Representing St Jude as a Corporate Partner
The hope this hospital has provided to families and kids since 1962 is a small taste of heaven. In 2009 I began fundraising for the St. Jude Give Thanks Walk every November. After that, I began a fundraiser through my corporation that helps raise money throughout the year and at a yearly event. This an event where the community comes together for one night to raise as much as we can to help St. Jude Research Hospital on their battle to save lives.
Why Help St. Jude?
I help St. Jude for the same reason I help people buy and sell their homes: to assist people to live out their dreams the same way I’ve been blessed enough to live out mine. I cannot enjoy my success in an isolated bubble. I know only too well that approximately 75% of the funds necessary to operate St. Jude must be raised from generous donors. Knowing that it costs close to $10,000 per child/family for one week of treatment, I had to help. And you can, too.
